Google Cardboard
Full of excitement I listened as Mrs Tele’a gave her instructions. A Google Expedition was held at Point England School introducing a new and exciting gadget called Google Cardboard. Google Cardboard is a headset built of Cardboard. You simply insert a smartphone into the piece, hold it to your face, select a location and enjoy. The year 8 students were waiting to experience a new virtual reality world.
I was surprised as I saw all the headsets spread on the table. We were told to pick one. It was the size of a Big Mac hamburger. Eager to try Google Cardboard I held it to my head. The first location was the Borneo rain forest, where we spotted David Attenborough a famous narrator and scientist.
I was mind blown. I felt as if I was actually in the Borneo rain forest. As I turned my head the image turn with it. It shows how technology these days has evolved and how it is still evolving. There was a trigger on the side that caused the 360 degree image to zoom in. We visited other popular locations including Palace of Versailles, The Burj Khalifa, Space, Washington Monument and others.
In conclusion we had an appealing experience as we visited new locations. I found it very neat and I would love to purchase the Google Cardboard one day so I can play around with it. I don't see it being used for education.

Andrew Patterson
College is a very exciting and important part of our education. Recently a great speaker named Andrew Patterson delivered an inspirational speech, informing our students of what to expect during college. He spoke about topics like time management, sorting priorities, good and bad habits and many more. One thing I found very interesting was that your brain is like a muscle it grows if you exercise it, this means you can expand your knowledge and brain capacity if you challenged yourself. Personally I look forward to college as I believe that I will learn new things and knowledge is power.

The Parapara Detectives
The Parapara is a bird kill tree that uses its sticky sap to trap the bird until starves to death. These are my answers to the questions about a text I read called The Parapara Detectives.

A Time With My Friends
“Hahahaha” I chuckled as I saw the faces of my friends. Labour day was over and the year 7 & 8 students were lucky enough to do an activity called “The Amazing Race” organized by our brilliant teachers. We had been placed into groups of 4 to 5. My group and I were doing an activity called Cookie Face.
A race that requires control of all your facial muscles. You begin by setting a Cookie on your forehead, your task is to get the Cookie into your mouth without using your hands. Our faces were coated with crumbs. My group struggled to accomplish this simple task, I had given up so I began slowly snacking on my cookie.
As we arrived at the next activity I saw all the equipment set up and had a fair idea of what we were going to be doing. Our first task was the Weet Bix challenge. We picked a team member to take part in this event. We selected Iisa. As the students lined up they were given one Weet Bix each. “Ready, Set, Go” the teacher cheered.
The team representatives instantly began shoving Weet Bix into their mouths. Chewing rapidly their mouths were as dry as a desert. I saw pieces of food stuck to their teeth. They looked as if they were indisposed. Finally someone completed the race. The winner belonged to another team.
Next was a group a task. We need to eat two spoonfuls of cold spaghetti mixed with fruit salad which was revolting. I noticed that their where grapes in the bowl so I ate 2 grapes but it was worst because the grapes were soaked in spaghetti sauce
Overall I had an awesome time with my classmates. I would love to do it again. We all had a great time.
